Experience

Awarding Experience
Player characters will earn very few experience points. What experience is awarded will be directly related to personal motivations, goals, agendas. or history. Additional experience will be awarded for role-playing these encounters. This means player character stats will not change much during the campaign. Luckily, the game is not about stats.

Saving Experience
Players are encouraged to spend experience points only after moments of revelation or epiphany, to accentuate new self-awareness and learning or introspection and remembrance.

Spending Experience
Players are encouraged to spend experience in a story-minded manner. Raising the Brawl ability might be appropriate after recalling and dealing with the murder of a close friend in a drunken fistfight. Raising Brawl after finding a clue to location of a lost son is not appropriate at all (although a character might find renewed Resolve…).
